TankSense sits on the lid of your polytank and tells your phone how many litres you have, when mains water starts flowing, and when you will run dry. No climbing, no tapping, no surprises.
Launching in Accra in 2027, then the US. Solar powered, works on MTN, no Wi-Fi needed.
Ghana Water produces about 219 million gallons a day. Accra and the other cities it serves need 350 million. So the tap runs when it runs, and the tank on your stand is what you live on.
Days of piped water a week, by neighbourhood. In the April to June dry season, supply can fall to 2 to 3 days or less.

A threaded collar and lock nut hold it in place. No wiring, no plumbing, no Wi-Fi to set up.
A radar or ultrasonic sensor reads the water level from above. A small solar panel and a long-life LiFePO4 battery keep it running for months without sun.
Readings go over the mobile network to the TankSense app, which turns them into litres, days left and alerts you can act on.
TankSense learns how your household uses water and when your area's supply usually comes, so its alerts arrive while you can still do something about them.
Sample screen
The moment mains water starts filling your tank, day or night, so you can open the inlet or start the pump.
Litres in the tank and how long they will last at the rate your household uses water.
A warning at the level you choose, early enough to arrange water before the taps go dry.
Water leaving the tank when nobody should be using it: a leak, a running toilet or an open tap.
A full tank still filling, so you can shut the inlet and stop wasting water.
Coming in 2028: order a water tanker from a vetted local vendor and pay with mobile money.

TankSense is being built by Pixel Resolve. The founder, Leonard Eshun, studied computer engineering at KNUST in Kumasi. From 2007 to 2024 he designed and led development of the system that processes every current Ghanaian and Liberian passport, growing it from one location to more than 85 worldwide, including 65 embassies. He now builds production AI systems.
He designed the TankSense prototype, from its power system and circuit board to its firmware and cloud, and is building three prototypes now: two for a full-height test tank in Durham, North Carolina, and a field unit for Ghana.
We are choosing the first Accra neighbourhoods and estates for the 2027 pilot. Tell us where your tank is and we will be in touch.
